Our Story

It was the late Mr. Muhammad Farooq who set up this firm of Advocates in the year 1970. He had joined the legal profession in the year 1959. The University of Punjab soon recognized his competence and he was appointed as a Member of the Visiting Faculty of the Punjab University Law College which was the only Law College in the Province of Punjab those days. Having thereafter remained the Secretary of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, he was elected as the Vice Chairman of the Punjab Bar Council which is the highest elected office of the Provincial Bar

He also remained a Member of the Pakistan Bar Council; was twice appointed as the Attorney General for Pakistan and his stature was finally recognized by the Hon. Judges of the Supreme Court who honored him by placing his name on the Roll of Senior Advocates of the Supreme Court. The first person to lend strength to Mr. Farooq was his late father, Mr. Justice Muhammad Siddiq who had joined the firm after his retirement from the Lahore High Court. His younger brother Asad ur Rehman remained in the Chamber for a few years before retiring into active politics and becoming a Member of the National Assembly a few times and serving Pakistan as a Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.

Mr. Khalil Ramday joined the Chamber and remained an active member of the firm till he was selected to serve in the office of the Advocate General for Punjab. Mr. Farooq’s son Raza Farooq who was a Gold Medalist in Law from Punjab University and had later earned his Master’s in Law from Harvard Law School joined the firm in early nineties and changed its shade from a purely civil to a commercial law firm.
